I’ve workout something to diagnose this issue and feel due to some reason (either hardware or virus) it’s file system got currupted (something like MBR corrupt in HDD). Hi All, recently I’ve purchased HP 8GB v155w pendrive, from last one day I’m facing the same problem as mentioned by most of users. Note, once you have the drive working, write something to it and do a proper disconnect, otherwise you may have to repeat this fix next time you plug it in. But I left the drive plugged in and after about half an hour, something must have timed out and presto, I got the popup asking me what I wanted to do with the drive (open files, play media, etc) that I always get on insertion. This change took, but I still got an error. My experience with fixing this, nothing worked until I tried changing the drive letter.

Fix: In order to resolve the issue, use the following methods given below: Method 1: Insert the removable disk in the removable drive before you start your computer. This could happen due to the default behavior of Windows XP when you may have e: drive assigned to a network drive or other hardware drive and removable pen drives tries to occupy e: drive as drive letter. One of the most possible cause of this issue when you have a removable drive which try to get a drive letter which is already reserved. The message that am prompted with is “insert disk into drive” As it’s clear from the message in quotes, this problems occur when you insert when your removable drive to your USB port, it detects your removable drive but throws an error window saying – Please Insert a Disk into Drive Device when you try to open it.
